I have a relatively small group and would like to eliminate or minimize the "select field" section that is at the top of the directory so that more of the list of members is visible without having to scroll.

Ideally, I would have a simple search box, with a link to advanced search next to it just above the browse list.

Is it possible to customize the directory format?  I noticed that I am required to pick at least 1 "select field", so I can't eliminate that section from the directory settings screen.
