    Add Moneris payment processor [7410]

    Hello -

We are just wondering if it is possible to build a hook to a Moneris payment service as opposed to using PayPal.

    Thank you!

    Re: Payments

Wild Apricot will not work with any other payment processors besides those which are fully integrated, i.e. will only work with PayPal (and also Authorize.Net in release 2.35, early Aug).

    Hello,

The association I work for is also looking at Moneris as a payment service. I am wondering if there is a list of potential providers somewhere that I would be able to add a vote to Moneris.

    Cheers.

    Cheers,

    Moneris

The telephone support system told me that Moneris would be available by the end of 2010. Is that still on schedule to happen?

    Re: Moneris

Currently we have a lot on our plate with other important system improvements so it is tentative at the moment and might have to wait.

    Moneris

That is very dissapointing to hear especially as the reason we switched to Wild Apricot is because Wild Apricot staff told us the option to use Moneris was going to happen. I am about to present/demo Wild Apricot at our National AGM of 10 different Provincial and Territorial cycling associations but our decision to use WIld Apricot was predicated on the addition of Moneris....

There are numerous buisness reasons to switch to Monersi this year:

    a) Your staff told a potentail customer you were going us add Moneris this year and they then puchased the product
    b) Its a Canadian payment system and WIld Apricot is a Canadian Company
    c) Using Moneris is much cheaper payment than the other payment processing systems offered
    d) A cheaper payment processing system makes it more financial viable for Canadian Organizations to switch to Wild Apricot
    e) Many Canadian associatiions already use Moneris in thier offices so using one payment system for both online and "in-office" transactions simply makes too much sense and makes it easier for companies to switch/purchase Wild Apricot

So on belhalf of your many Canadian customers can we please have Moneris back on your busy plate...

    Thanks

    Re: Moneris

    Keith,

I absolutely understand your perspective. It is not that we do not want to add Moneris, it is just that we have to prioritize it below other more common/more urgent requests. (and even though we are a Canadian company, the reality is that we have many more clients in US than in Canada so that has to factor into our prioritization)

The bottom line is that we will add it, but right now I can't give you a specific timeline because it has not been scheduled into a particular release yet.

    Re: Moneris

    Dmitry,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Hmmmm...more US customers than Canadian customers.

Understandable, its a bigger market but I would humbly suggest that the lack of a Canadian payment processor is a  primary reason Canadian Associations are not switching to Wild Apricot....there are real and perceived privacy issues for Canadian membership based organizations whenever we are processing data through a US corporation and not-fot profit groups are caustious by nature in thier business practices.

...so its a bit chicken and egg.....the growth of your sales in Canada will be inhibited until you offer a Canadian payment processor....and its diffcult for you to prioritise this feature because you are understandably trying to meet the needs of your larger customer base....

The Wild Apricot product is amazing and is perhaps the best kept secret in online registrations (check google search for Online Registration and no Wild Apricot) and I think the Canadian market offers a great business opportunity because your competitors in the US have a tough sell up here because they do the same....process on US Payment proicessors and often in US $.

Its understandable that you cannot please all the people all the time and must prioritise...this I very much undertsand and appreciate. But if your staff say (in February) Moneris will be online in 2010 and we go and invest hundreds of people hours and training in switching over only to be told (in August) that it has slipped down the priority list.....then we are left feeling frustrated and back at the drawing board for 2011....

Its also worth mentioning that the first request for Moneris was back in July 2008....that's over two years ago.

So...can we mover Moneris up the priority list?

     Cheers

    Re: Moneris

I understand your point and it makes sense. I will move this to our wishlist - though it will be a while anyway before we can tackle this.

FYI - we did look at the Moneris when we were starting up but I recall we were turned off by lack of documentation and capabilities of their integration API. I hope the situation has changed in the last few years.

Apologies for the miscommunication from our team regarding the schedule.

    Re: Moneris

    Hi Dmitry,

Thanks for trying but Cycling BC was planning the switch to WIld Apricot based on using Moneris as a payment processor in 2011. As I said before we spent an awful lot of person hours setting up our new Wild Apricot system up and to hear that we were mis-informed about Moneris is very disappointing.

We would have processed over 2000 members in 2011and we are setting off  this week to our National AGM at which we were going to try and convince the other 8 Cycling association's and thier clubs to make the switch to Wild Apricot. But there is no point, if as you say, "its going to be a while before you can takle this".

I will reiterate that I am not sure your Canadian business can grow that much without a Canadian payment processor. But as you say, the market south of the border is of primary concern to your business.

    Kindest regards,

    Re: Moneris

    Keith,

I understand your perspective. Just to explain: our Canadian clients can already use two payment processors for on-site credit card processing: PayPal Pro and Authorize.Net - see http://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/Online+Payments

We do plan to add Moneris but it is a big chunk of work so we have to prioritize this work against many other important requests.

Sorry, this is still in our queue but we do not expect any change here in 2011
