Create HTML Anchors within WA editor [6778]

I'd really like a simple way to create named anchors on a page so my users don't have to edit the HTML to add <a name=top>Top</a> and then figure out how to create the link to the anchor.  Even with specific instructions, this is way outside their comfort zone.

    Re: Create HTML Anchors

Unfortunately, this option is not available right now. But I would suggest to add this feature request to our Wishlist forum at: http://community.wildapricot.com/8/ShowForum.aspx
and if it will become popular with other users we will definitely add it to our roadmap.

    Re: Create HTML Anchors

No problem.  I have a lot of pages that are very long (lots of text) and it's really helpful to have the main topic headers as links at the top of the web page so people can quickly skip down to the part they're interested in.  That's why I need anchors.

How does a Wishlist item get on the Roadmap?

We periodically (at least monthly) review Wishlist and move up some items onto Roadmap.

We have not used this feature because it forces one to understand HTML syntax. As this is the only feature that forces one to it is a lot of work and we would appreciate it if this was as easy to use as the links is.

    Add us to the list.

Also capability to use anchors in emails - pointing to other parts of the email, not back to the web site - would be wonderful.

    Re: Create HTML Anchors

Am I correct that main purpose of in-page anchors is to allow quick navigation inside long pages?
In this case would Table of Contents gadget solve the problem?
Such a gadget can parse current page headings (H1, H2, etc) and create corresponding Table of Contents in own location.
This would avoid the need to assign anchors and corresponding links manually.
Also we could discuss what gadget parameters are required for the initial implementation. Probably most obvious one: depth, i.e. an ability to limit TOC H1 headings only.
Another good functionality would be adding <to top> or <to toc> link near each sub heading, although such functionality could be not related to Table of Contents gadget.

Add a New 'Anchor' Tool to Edit Fuction

The only way to add a 'bookmark' (you refer to it as an 'anchor') to a specific location within an existing web page is to add some script in the html code to the web page.  While this works, I think this is more difficult than it needs to be, especially for many of us who are not proficient in using html code.

Please add a tool to your edit functions that will allow a quick and easy method to link a 'bookmark - anchor' to an existing location inside the web page.

By having this tool, the admin person would not have to worry about adding/changing html code.

I am absolutely in support of this feature, and hope to see it on the roadmap soon.

We would love an easy way to create anchors without needing html knowledge.

Add our vote to this one again. HTML Anchors would be very very useful so it would be good to get this back onto the roadmap again.

I was surprised that this was not already a feature. Seems pretty fundamental to me.
