Re: Text Box for adding instructions on Registration Form

That doesn't work for me because the direction apply directly to the information we are asking for. People are NOT going to read the top of a page, they would read a popup. That's just how people are.

You put a bunch of text at the top, and they might start out reading it, but they are just going to go to the boxes and start filling in the information.

Re: Text Box for adding instructions on Registration Form

It doesn't work because the pages that take you through the registration process are not listed in the page management list.

When I go to the pages through administration, they say "You are logged in as an administrator, log out to register". However once I log out, I do not have access to any "edit" buttons. I can't see if there is an option to add text because I can't view these pages and edit them at the same time.

I agree with you uneedstuff, that it is not sufficient to have text at the top. There definitely needs to be pop up text, scroll over text, or lines of text that are able to be inserted into the form beside the relevant fields. However I also feel it is important to include the capacity to make a statement at the top of these registration pages that are not accessible from any menu.

Re: Adding pop-ups for instructions on applications

It sounds to me like birthfaery is asking for a tooltip the pops up when the mouse hovers over an entry field. Pretty good idea.

At present we have the "Section Divider" which does part of the job some of the time. There is a limit to the amount of text that is allowed and there also seems to be additional limitations on when it will work - like a Section Divider cannot follow a Section Divider and they cannot be the last item on the page.

    I suggest two changes:

    1. Provide a tooltip that pops up when the mouse hovers over a field,
    2. Provide a explanatory text box which appears on the data entry screen.  This box would need to come with a drop down list of membership levels (as do all other field types) and could be used to provide text to help the user through the entry process.
