Provide reporting on member logins [5233]

I'd like to have the ability to get more data on recent logins. Currently, the dashboard displays "most active members" but I think a "recently active members" feature is equally if not more useful. I'd also like to be able to see more than just the top 5 results for these categories.

I think this would be beneficial for monitoring campaigns or promotions. Right now we are trying to get members to use the features of our new site or just log in at all, so if we put together a promotional email, for instance, "The top 5 things you can do on the new website" then we could see how many people logged following that promotion.

We do have google analytics installed, but I think this would be more targeted.

Also, I'd like to easily see who hasn't logged in recently or at all to target members at risk of leaving our club.

Provide report showing number of logins

I see on the dashboard you provide a report of the "most active members" showing the number of logins done by name. We were interested in enhancing our website by running a promotion with our members to give an incentive prize to the individual who shows the most activity over a 30 day period. In order to make the promotion work, we would need a report showing us the number of times a person logs in over a time frame. I don't see a way to do this. Is this possible to track? We were thinking it would be a fun thing to do and drive traffic to our website. It would be nice if we could have that reporting ability.

I agree.  A login section would be great under each specific member, or to track an entire bundle, in order to get detailed statistics on when they have logged in over a period of a year.

Re: Provide reporting on member logins

This would be a very useful tool for many purposes. It was available on our old site, and I used it a lot, especially to promote using the site, and to fax blast event news and registration forms to those who are established "non-users" of the web site. I could easily generate a report showing all who logged in during a specified time frame, and how many times each person had logged in.

Re: Provide report showing number of logins

I agree, this would be most useful, and was indeed requested by our board of directors.

Our organization is also trying to build members' online presence and we need to know which members are the most active on the site, overall, and also at any given time (date-based).

This can help us to target those who don't log in as well, to contact them and try to get them to interact more.

I don't have a need for this as yet, but in the short run could you use something like Google analytics to track IP addresses that land on your member login landing page (the page they land on when they login)?  Maybe not as precise as you'd like, but might work.  Just a thought.

Yes, It would be useful to easily see who is coming to the site and perhapse a high level count of the pages they are visiting. I would like to use this information to reach out to those frequent visitors ~ Jim

    A great idea !

The Internet is strewn with beautifully designed but rarely used web sites.

This tool would be so useful in helping decide what is being used (successful) and what is not (a waste of effort).

Yes, this feature would be very useful. We too are doing our best to see if our members are getting what they want from their membership. We would like to see for all members the number of times they logged in for a period of time as well as statistics that summarize usage. We could see if there are averages, peak times, low times.

Feedback is often difficult to get from members, but this would go a long way to helping us to target emails or see if their membership is getting used much. I agree that also a count on what pages they are visiting would be great. Google's statistics are useful, but not if content is behind a password.

Armed with this data of high, average and low use members I could send targetted emails and trim any non-responsive members out.

Thank you so much for considering this.

I would like to throw in my yes vote to this.  We too are currently using google analytics, but having something internal would be wonderful.

    Re: Tracking logins

Yes, I agree this would be a good feature. We have been using the database for quite some time and have offered a Free membership level. However if we run several campaigns over a certain time period to get those free members to login and use the system, but they do not then we'd like to put them into a cycle where we would send them emails about deactivating their membership.

Tracking the number of logins and last login we could tell who was active and who isn't now, who was never an active user (say less than 2 login per year for example) and make intelligent decisions on how to go about deactivating the memberships or who to ask for feedback about why they stopped being so active etc.

This would be very useful, number of logins, in the exported contact list.

Thank you for considering this wishlist request.

    Re: Tracking logins

No one has mentioned this - the Advanced Search in WA does have a search criterion for "last login date". This is what I have been using to get some idea of how many people have been logging in over a given period of time. I realize this won't do all of things being suggested here, and more stats would be helpful.

Jennn, thanks for bringing this up, it is indeed a useful workaround at least for some cases.

    Re: Tracking logins

We hope to have this feature, too, since we need to know how many members are loggin in to the website. The frequency of entries would be useful, but the number of unique users is important for us to know.  Even better if we knew who they were by name.  AnnB
