    More dynamic forms please!

Some changes may need to be made/considered, including:

    1.  variable pricing - It is so annoying to have to add "1 attendee @ 25", "2 attendees @ 50", "3 attendees @ 75" etc.  Is there any way to account for variable pricing?

    2.  search back/carry over criteria - many associations offer day rate registrations and I hate to have 10 registration types such as "Monday only Student", "Monday only Non-student", "Tuesday only Student", "Tuesday only Non-Student" etc.

It would be much easier to have 2: "Day rate Student" & "Day rate Non-Student" then on the next page or after that a prompt appears to select the day they want to attend. BUT THIS WOULD ONLY APPEAR IF THE USER SELECTED THIS REGISTRATION OPTION.

    3.  Event and Signup form SPACERS.  Is there any way to have an INSERT BLANK LINE or INSERT BLANK SPACE to create some space between the registration and sign up options on your event forms?  It appears that you cannot have 2 section dividers in a row.

    4.  Memo/text areas or Expanded Section Divider features - It appears to me that you're only allowing a max of 100 characters whether in a section divider or a multi-line text option.  Some optional registration packages require quite a bit of explanation and this just doesn't cut it.  The rules and terms option is too restrictive b/c it will appear in other places and that makes no sense.

    5.  Enable html option - Can this not be offered in a label or section divider currently?  I work with Graduate and Post-Doctorate teachers, professors and researchers.  Some of our registration options include things like "select this option to receive a free copy of XYZ Journal" and these people FLIP OUT if the journal name is not bolded or italicized

I apologize if some of these options have been discussed/rejected and/or are already available, if they're available, it's not evident to me and I'm happy to look closer at what I'm doing.  But I think this would really cut down on the aggravation factor when designing a registration form.

    Re: More dynamic forms please!

I forgot to add that I'd like to see more dynamic options on members only pages....Specifically, why cant we add MACRO's to the members only pages like we can add macros to the confirmation emails?

I remember reading somewhere in the help area (and I cannot find it now) where one can add "Welcome [[INSERT NAME HERE]]" to the members only home page but I remember the process being quite tedious.

When my members login, I like to have a simple message that says

    Welcome [[name]]

Your [[membership level]] expires on [[Renewal Due Date]]

I completely agree with this user.  Given this time of economic instability, I feel it is important to make sure we are offering our members a customized experience.  I feel this change should be pushed to the forefront in the next update!

The limitations with character count in section titles is quite infuriating.  Often, I need to be able to provide additional information in the section header for my events.

Another suggestion - make the terms and conditions option a pop up box that individuals read rather than a required redirect to a link.  Save us all a little time.

Yes please I'd like to see more dynamic options on the members only page as well!

    Re: More dynamic forms please!

It's very difficult for us to deal with such "combined" wishlist thread - a lot of points to discuss in the same time, this just does not work as our experience has taught us. Our usual policy is to "1 thread - 1 wish/request" - this way we can have a focused discussion and eventually such requests have much more chances to get into development queue.

So can I ask you to publish separate threads in wishlist for each particular problem you mentioned?  I can see the following:

    • Using macros in a page content is a very good idea and I don't remember that anybody has mentioned it before. Please create a dedicated topic and let's listen other people's comments about this idea
    • Section divider related comments - please also create a separate topic. I think that what you need is not more characters in the field name (it a section title - it cannot be really long by definition) but rather an additional text field in the section field settings where you can put section notes/comments. System will show such notes below section title and you should be able to use HTML code inside (i.e. links, italic, etc.). This also correlates a little bit with this thread - http://community.wildapricot.com/2908/ShowThread.aspx - where we discuss ability to add comments for specific fields
    • For points 1 and 2 I also ask you to create a separate thread - I'm afraid I do not fully understand your point so I'd like to have a conversation in a dedicated thread about this

For now I'm moving this thread into General discussions forum and I'm waiting for problem-specific threads from you so we can discuss them separately.

I'll do this, thanks for your feedback. I kinda knew when I was typing this that I should separate the number list into separate topics.  But i was afraid I'd lose my thoughts if I did that, so I'll do it now and I can use this post to keep my focus.

You can probably tell that I was working on a complex registration form.  New threads on all points are on their way...

One point, for #2 instead of search back and carry over, maybe if/then is more appropriate...

If a user selects day rate then they're prompted to select a day they wish to attend...
If a user selects FULL registration, then they don't see the "select the day you wish to attend" option b/c they'll be attending the full conference.

      Re: More dynamic forms please!

Re #2 - as far as I understand, there is another solution - to make event registration fields setup similar to member field when each field can be tied to specific registration type - and you gave your comment about that in http://community.wildapricot.com/permalink/24263/24262/ShowThread.aspx#24262
