    Membership numbers don't add up?

When I look at my Member List overview, the numbers don't seem to add up.

Here are the figures for one membership level:

    Total: 928

    Active: 530
    Renewal Overdue: 372
    Lapsed: 349

(Then there are a few small numbers in the other colums)

This doesn't add up. Also, most of the names in Renewal Overdue and Lapsed seem to be the same.

    So how does this work?

    Thanks,
    Paul

Renewal overdue members can have any status (Active, Lapsed, Pending New, Pending Renewal, Pending Level Change) so you cannot just add up all the columns - the idea is give you a quick overview of your member database. If you add up the 5 status columns only (since these are unique) then you get the actual totals.

It also stands to reason that most of the lapsed members (if not all of them) would also be renewal overdue (i.e. they got lapsed because they did not renew).

    Jim,

In regard to the "Renewal Overdue" member number vs. Lapsed. It seems to me that as of April 2011, these numbers represented different buckets.

We have our policies set up so that if a member does not renew within 30 days of expiration date, their status is changed from active to lapsed. I believe that formerly, the Renewal Overdue category showed only members who were within that 30 day window, and that once they lapsed they were moved to the "lapsed" category.

Now we are seeing that members are counted as both "renewal overdue" and lapsed. This is not helpful. We would like to see a category that only has the members in that 30-day renewal period so we can easily contact them.

Is there a way to configure the dashboard to show those 30-day expired but not yet lapsed people? If not on the dashboard, is there another way to easily filter them?

I am copying this also to a support email. Thanks

Renewal overdue and lapsed status are NOT mutually exclusive, and one does not necessarily affect the other. e.g. its possible to manually lapse a member before they are overdue. You should instead run an advanced search (using criteria "member status" and "renewal due") to find the specific members you want, see http://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/Advanced+search+-+Contacts
