    Payment Instructions - link [10548]

Is there a way to add a link to the payment intructions field on individual events?

There is not an option to activate HTML, and inserting the HTML characters for a link does not appear to do anything.

    Re: Payment Instructions - link

When we signed up for WA we were not aware that tax amounts would not be calculated on event registration nor membership purchases. At the moment this makes our payment administration too complicated to work through WA and paypal, not to mention that the way our accounts are set up in Quickbooks doesn't seem to be compatible with the WA export to Quickbooks function (which only seems to allow one account for membership and one for events, whereas our Quickbooks chart of accounts has several).

Therefore we need, at least for now, to continue to direct  our customers to our old payment website through another provider (Beanstream). Obviously it is preferable to offer a link to our customers rather than simply asking them to copy and paste a long jumbled URL (they are not customizable URLs.) Ideally, we would prefer to link the payment website to text such as "Click here to be redirected to on-line credit card payment".

    I hope that made sense?

    Thanks for your input

    Re: Payment Instructions - link

OK, thanks for detailed comment. Sales taxes support is very high in our analysis queue - see special thread on that http://community.wildapricot.com/18308/ShowThread.aspx

Regarding links in payment instructions - it's not something we can do quickly right now, unfortunately. But I will make a note of that. The most simple solution I see now is that system just parses payment instructions text and all text links are automatically shown as normal web links.

    Re: Payment Instructions - link

    Thanks for the feedback.

I have already posted in that thread about the sales tax last week, and identified it as our number one concern.

You can see the importance of this issue in the fact that we have had to look for workarounds. This link in the payment instructions was going to be our workaround, but I guess we will have to figure something else out for the meantime.

    Thanks again

Sorry, can you clarify your comment above?

How can I get the text to automatically show as a normal weblink?

    Hi again,

Could you please clarify your statement: "The most simple solution I see now is that system just parses payment instructions text and all text links are automatically shown as normal web links."

I'm not sure what "parses" means, or if that's a typo. I would like to get the "text links to automatically show as normal web links", but your statement is not clear on how I can do that.

I have tried putting just the url text in, which does not create a link (customer has to copy and paste into browser)

I've also tried using html code to create a link, for example <a> link url </a> . This did not create a link, but instead showed the text exactly like that, with the coding showing up on either side of the plain text url.

    Thanks for your help.

    Re: Payment Instructions - link

First all all, sorry for misleading you. To make it clear: for now it is not possible to add links into payment instructions as real links. Only as simple text.

Next, we need to do something to make it happen and I just described possible solution. Sorry for my technical language :) What I suggested to implement is that simple text in your payment instructions (that is actually a link) will be automatically shown as normal link on a real page.

Unfortunately, this is something that needs to be done and I cannot tell you when this is going to happen.

    Re: Payment Instructions - link

Ah yes, alright I see now.

This would be a good solution. I would suggest, wherever possible, to allow for html and linking of text (at the minimum) in all customizable fields.

For now, I have just discovered how to edit the individual registration confirmation emails (which are rather hidden and not terribly straight forward to find). This allows for HTML which solves my problem for this particular event, but its usefulness is limited.

Again, wherever possible I suggest that customizable text boxes and other forms allow for links and other html functions.

    Thanks

    Re: Payment Instructions - link

In 4.3 release any link text in payment instructions is parsed and rendered as normal clickable link on the page.
