I am really interested in linking WA events to a google calendar and came across your post. As you can tell by my username I need a little help. You lost me on step 2. I'm not sure where the ?url info can be found.

Hi - well everyone is a ' newbiecot ' at some point :) You get the url (the website address) by clicking the orange RSS link on your events page. If you need more help send your website address and other details to frank@wildapricot.com

Did this experiment end? My feed URL comes up with a "Failed to fetch..." error and Google can't see it.  If the feed generator script has been removed, has it be replaced with something else?  I could really use this functionality... getting my WA events into a shared Google calendar!

Actually, I just tried this with my other WA account and this URL works... http://freshapricot.com/apps/wildapricot/events/feedtogoogle.php?url=http://inventorsforum.memberlodge.org/Content/RSS/events.ashx?pageId=83347

But the one I'm having trouble with is this one... http://freshapricot.com/apps/wildapricot/events/feedtogoogle.php?url=http://www.hopeca.com/Content/RSS/events.ashx?pageId=143362

It looks like some kind of access problem, can you recheck the URL?

You can see that http://inventorsforum.memberlodge.org/Content/RSS/events.ashx?pageId=83347 returns a feed while  http://www.hopeca.com/Content/RSS/events.ashx?pageId=143362 returns Resource not found so page is not correct/not publicly accessible.

Yes this experiment has ended. If there are updates to it in the future I will post them here.

Does that mean that this feature no longer works??? It was a great idea that made it very easy for people to add our events to their calendar. Why turn it off?

    I'm glad you liked it.

This was discontinued because of some changes in how Google reads event data, so once I'm able to update it I will post a new notification in the thread.

However keep in mind that these experiments are personal projects I work on outside of my work so they're not supported by our team here and will most likely be replaced by actual features in Wild Apricot (at some point).

But that being said - I do like to create these interim solutions to fill the gap between what we offer now and what we might offer in the future.
